The centre was started in 1956 and made a branch of the Mission in 2001.
Activities of the Main centre :
- A high school with 113 boys and 109 girls.

- A middle school with 257 boys and 207 girls.

- A free coaching centre with 222 poor students.
- An small homoeopathic dispensary, which was run once a week (519 patients were treated).

- Viveka Vahini, a mobile unit for imparting value education in villages and educational institutes. It screened 74 films in 104 educational institutions and villages benefiting 27,079 students and villagers.
- Balala Sangham,a cultural centre with 314 school children.
- Religious activities: Daily worship, evening aratrikam, bhajans, retreats, religious discourses, etc.

- A youth convention was conducted in which 70,000 students participated.

- Welfare work by way of distributing school uniforms, notebooks and scholarships to needy students, pecuniary help to poor, etc.
Activities of the City/Town/Sub centre :
- Vivekananda study circle, a cultural centre with 89 young men.

- Exhibitions on the lives and teachings of Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda.
- Evening aratrikam everyday and religious classes twice a week.

Swami Vivekananda (12 January 1863 – 4 July 1902) was an Indian saint, social reformer, and a great teacher of mankind. He was the foremost disciple of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Dev who is considered as the prophet of modern age. Swami Vivekananda was a towering spiritual personality, great thinker, orator and the prophet of universal harmony and progress.
