The ashrama was started in 1939 and made a branch of the Mission in 1968.

Activities of the Mission centre :

 

  1. A library and a free reading room, with 12,046 books, and 42 newspapers and periodicals.
  1. A free students’ home with 32 tribal boys.
  1. A charitable homoeopathic-cum-allopathic dispensary with eye, ENT, dental and other sections. 22,429 cases were treated this year.

  1. A mobile medical unit which treated 24,277 cases.

  1. A publication department for books in Assamese language.
  1. Religious activities: Daily worship, weekly religious classes,
    observance of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri
    Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda, other religious personalities
    and also festivals like Durga Puja, Kali Puja, etc.

  1. Welfare work by way of distribution of milk, clothes and blankets, providing pecuniary help, etc.

He was the foremost disciple of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Dev who is considered as the prophet of modern age.
